Happy Thursday!
Today is another example of how different two types with just one letter difference can be. Last week I emailed you about INFP’s. Some of my favorite all time people are INFP’s. They are sensitive, creative, go with the flow kinds of people. They have tremendous depth and a lot of love to give! Today’s type is INTP. As they share many of the introverted, creative, go with the flow characterizes of INFP’s they have a very different front seat and baby as their title might suggest, they are much more in their heads. 🙂
As you know, I am sending each of the 16 cars for the next 16 weeks (we are on 8 of 16) to help you learn about each type and see if you can identify friends and family like this so you can better understand them.
Type is ALL about better understanding ourselves and others so we can live our best lives and have amazing relationships!!
So far we have covered:
You can go back and read the others if you missed them.
Today’s is INTP – The Thinker

INTROVERTED THINKING IN THE INTERNAL WORLD/IN YOUR HEAD:
- Logical order is what is most important to you
- You will dismiss illogic; you will ignore the trivial
- As you take in information, it is logically organized in your mind
- You sort out and discriminate that which makes logical sense from that which does not
- You are like a detective
- You are a problem solver seeking clues and root causes
Copilot: What the world sees of you, your second-best self
EXTROVERTED INTUITION IN THE EXTERNAL WORLD:
- You explore new ideas, new people and possibilities
- You are imaginative, inventive and innovative
- You see the big picture and future possibilities
- You naturally energize people
- You engage action towards a vision of what could be
- You’re always asking yourself “What if…”
- You are creative
- You often think outside the box
- 75% of people can’t see what you see; you have a gift that others need
Drunk Uncle in the Back Seat: Things you suck at and should NOT be doing
INTROVERTED SENSING IN THE INTERNAL WORLD/IN YOUR HEAD OR HEART:
- Anything that requires you to be a virtual repository of data, details and impressions
- Having to remember people’s birthdays, anniversaries or other important milestones
- Work that requires you to remember people and/or places and manage minute details and data on a regular basis
- A job that is the same thing, day in, day out—routine kills you
- You need to have people in your life to help you see the facts and details since this is an area you are going to struggle with
Baby in the Back Seat: Where you go under deep stress or when someone has hurt you
EXTROVERTED FEELING IN THE EXTERNAL WORLD YOU GET LOUD:
- Your normal logical self goes away
- You become overly emotional, perhaps even hysterical
- You may cry, scream, yell
- You become confrontational when people upset you; “in their face”
